Chay is the proud owner of GlambyChay Hair Salon. She is a highly motivated, and creative colourist with over 8 years of experience as a hairstylist/colourist with in-depth knowledge of the current trends and styles. She provides world-class customer service and is well educated in the latest in the beauty industry. You will experience a very efficient and thoughtful treatment: high sensitivity on what you really want and the power to make it come true.

Her career started at Rob Peetoom where her knowledge rapidly grew. After learning as much as possible her love for coloring grew even more. She then moved to the hair salon of the Intercontinental Amstel Hotel where she worked for many years, treating the most demanding customers to their full satisfaction. After having worked in such high end salons she felt it was time to grab all her knowledge and start her own salon.

I am convinced that a one on one treatment will make the experience of going to a hairsalon so much more pleasant. Its all about you, and I will make sure we will find things out about your hair you didn’t even think were possible. It is very Important to me that all my clients feel heard and understood. L’Anza Ultimate Treatment

Three step treatment that will heal, seal and protect your hair. Together we will adjust the treatment to your specific hair type. You can choose between the Power Booster Volume, Power Booster strength or the Power Booster Moisture. Combining them is also an option.


Olaplex is the complete solution to repair, rebuild, and restore broken hair bonds. This is all thanks to a single molecule: Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. This patented ingredient is designed to seek out broken hair bonds in your hair caused by heat, chemical, mechanical and colour damage.

Inebrya Karyn

The Inebrya Karyn haircare line includes a restructuring protein booster and three advanced instant hair setting ampoules, specifically for coloured, bleached/highlighted and dry, frizzy and treated hair. All treatments contain NO sulphates or silicones.





What is the difference between a balayage and an ombre and highlights?

Highlights and lowlights are used to add colour dimension starting from the root to the tip.

An ombre is used to add dimension by seamlessly melting one colour at your root to another colour at the tip. There is no harsh line where one colour starts and another one ends. The colours flow into each other. The ombre technique has one solid colour at the roots, and a different solid colour on the ends.

Balayage is a free-hand technique used by your stylist to give your hair dimension, usually somewhere in the middle of an ombre and highlights. Where highlights will show distinctive streaks of different colours from roots to tips, and ombre shows a solid colour at the roots, and a different colour at the tips, balayage takes these two techniques and blends them together. You will still have one solid colour at your roots, but the free-hand technique will place varying levels of highlights at different heights in your hair. The highlights get blended seamlessly into the root colour of the hair. In some sections, the root colour will be the same all the way down to the tips of the hair.

Do you use Olapex?

Yes, for an additional €30 we can add Olaplex to the colour or as an treatment, We are always trying to keep your hair as healthy and strong as possible.

How long does a colour appointment take

This depends on the treatment and the present state of your hair. On average it will take 1 to 4 hours. In exceptional cases, for instance long, thick or pre-colourerd hair, the treatment time can be longer.

Can I wash my hair after a colour service?

Yes, as long as it is a shampoo for colour care. This will help you to protect your investment for a longer period of time. In the Salon we sell L’Anza shampoo that is safe to use.

Should I wash my hair before I do a colour treatment?

Yes, clean hair allows products to perform better. Hair build-up (like minerals and dirt) doesn’t allow products to perform at its 100%. Of course we offer a shampoo service in our Salon.



What do you recommend as measurements to keep my hair healthy

Some general guidelines:

  • Use pillow sheets made of silk. (You will be surprised, but you can find real good ones at markets)
  • Use products that fit your hair type. Ask in your salon what is best to use. Be aware that products sold in a salon will be kinder to your hair than the retail brands.
  • Wash your hair no more than twice a week and always use conditioner or a mask at least once a week.
  • Always use heat protection before exposing your hair to extreme heat.

Is it possible to go from dark hair to blond hair at once

Yes, this is possible but not to be advised. I strongly advise to get there in two or three steps.


Do you have cancellation policy?

We have adopted a 24-hour cancellation policy for all services. We appreciate your consideration to call and notify us if rescheduling needs to be made. “No Shows” are responsible for 100% of cost of appointment.

What happens if I am late for my appointment?

We understand Amsterdam has crazy traffic hours, if you are more than 15 minutes late, please call to notify of delays and we will try our best to honour your appointment.

Do you have a service guarantee policy?

If you are not satisfied with our service, please notify us while at the salon and we will try our best to meet your expectations.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept debit cards and cash.

Can I return or exchange an item bought at the salon?

If you are not happy then we are not happy. Although we would never sell you something that we don’t believe in or use ourselves, we realize that everyone has their own preferences. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with a purchase and you have not opened the package, we will assist you with a prompt exchange within 30 days of purchase.
